How to use the viewer
Copy the contents of an SGF file (it starts with (;GM[1]) and paste it into the box, then press “Load SGF”. Use the arrows or the slider to step through the moves. The most recent move is marked with a small dot so you can follow the action.

- SGF (Smart Game Format) is the standard file format for recording Go games. It stores the board size, komi, and every move, so any Go program can replay the game.
- Can I view games from other Go sites?
- Yes. This viewer reads standard FF[4] SGF files, including those exported from common Go servers and desktop software. It replays the main line of the game.
- How do I get an SGF of my own game?
- Play a game on GoingBoard and use the Download SGF button. You can then paste the file here or open it in any Go software.
